There were 8 players drafted out of high school in 2005 before a rule prohibiting it went into effect.  (Martell Webster, Andrew Bynum, Gerald Green, CJ Miles, Monta Ellis, Louis Williams, Andray Blatche, Amir Johnson)  Ricky Sanchez, a Puerto Rican player, was also drafted, but has not played in the NBA).

In, 2010, Jeremy Tyler was drafted by the Bobcats and traded to the Warriors after playing 2 seasons in Israel and Japan following his junior year of high school.
